The Jets have announced that Jones will be released shortly. Although New York will seek additional help at RB, Shonn Greene owners have to be pleased.

Reed has learned that he will not be offered a contract with Buffalo for the upcoming 2010 season.
- Terrell Owens
Owens has been informed by the Bills that he will not be a member of the team in 2010.

The Jets signed Folk, who was released by Dallas in December. If incumbent kicker Jay Feely leaves in free agency, Folk provides insurance. If Feely re-signs, Folk provides training camp competition.

The "LaDainian Tomlinson" era has come to an end in San Diego as the Chargers released the nine-year veteran today. Tomlinson, who turns 31 this summer, should still attract interest from several teams.

- Matt Jones
Cincinnati Bengals have signed unrestricted free-agent WR Matt Jones (Jaguars) to a one-year deal worth around $700,000.
- Torry Holt
Jacksonville's receiving corps will have a different look to it in 2010 and Holt will not be a part of it. The soon-to-be 34-year-old receiver has been released. At the moment, Mike Sims-Walker and Mike Thomas appear to have inside track to the starting WR jobs next season.
- Wes Welker
Welker underwent successful knee surgery today to repair a torn ACL suffered in Week 17. At this time, projections for his return vary. Optimistically, he might be ready for the season opener in September, but realistically, it's likely to be much later. A torn ACL is a more devastating injury for a receiver who has to make sharp, precise cuts. We don't think we'll see him until the latter half of the '10 season.
