      Minnesota Vikings RB Toby Gerhart (knee) was limited during workouts Tuesday, Sept. 7, reports Chip Scoggins and Judd Zulgad, of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Our View: Don't expect Gerhart to do much tomorrow night, if he plays at all.
    • Vikings | Husain Abdullah could start at safety

      Minnesota Vikings S Husain Abdullah may make his first career start at strong safety during Week 1, reports Chip Scoggins and Judd Zulgad, of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Abdullah isn't exactly sure what his role will be in the game, and noted he has been sharing playing time with DBs Tyrell Johnson and Jamarca Sanford (ankle), who was limited during workouts Tuesday, Sept. 7. Abdullah has experience as a nickel back, so he could see time working against slot receivers.
    • Vikings | Cedric Griffin may play Week 1

      Minnesota Vikings CB Cedric Griffin (knee) may see some time during Week 1, as head coach Brad Childress indicated he is toying with the idea of playing Griffin, reports Chip Scoggins and Judd Zulgad, of the Minneapolis Tribune. Griffin missed all of training camp and is working his way back from a torn ACL. Griffin was limited during practice Tuesday, Sept. 7.
    • Vikings | John Sullivan status unknown for Week 1

      Minnesota Vikings C John Sullivan (calf) was limited during practice Tuesday, Sept. 7, and his status remains unknown for Week 1, reports Chip Scoggins and Judd Zulgad, of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. If he cannot play, C Jon Cooper would likely start and RG Anthony Herrera is also an option.
    • Ravens | Sergio Kindle optimistic he will play this year

      Baltimore Ravens rookie LB Sergio Kindle (head) completed neurological tests in Baltimore Tuesday, Sept. 7, reports Jamison Hensley, of The Baltimore Sun. Kindle is optimistic he will be cleared to play this season. The Raves are expected to resume contract negotiations with Kindle once they are sure he will be able to play again. The team has said numerous times they do not know if he will be able to play in 2010.
    • Jets | Tony Richardson returns

      The New York Jets have re-signed veteran FB Tony Richardson, reports The Sports Network. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
    • Jets | Four added to practice squad

      The New York Jets have signed C Robby Felix, LB Josh Mauga, WR Larry Taylor and DT Martin Tevaseu to their practice squad, reports The Sports Network.
    • Seahawks | Roster moves

      The Seattle Seahawks have re-signed S Jordan Babineaux, reports The Sports Network. The Seahawks released DT Craig Terrill to open a roster spot for Babineaux.
    • Chargers | Two released

      The San Diego Chargers have released CB Brandon Hughes from their active roster and OL Jeff Hansen from their practice squad. The team signed T Ryan Otterson and TE Kory Sperry to their practice squad.
    • Dolphins | Trying out Clifton Smith

      The Miami Dolphins will work out RB Clifton Smith (Buccaneers) Wednesday, Sept. 8, as they search for a kick returner, reports the Palm Beach Post's Ben Volin, per a source. Miami is not content with either RB Patrick Cobbs or CB Nolan Carroll as their primary kick returner. Smith led the NFL last year with a 29.1 average kick return among players with 20-plus returns, but he was placed on Injured Reserve in December after suffering his second concussion of the season.
    • Jets | Cody Brown signed

      The New York Jets have signed LB Cody Brown (Cardinals) to their practice squad, reports NewYorkJets.com.
